I am in love with the Hamilton Beach’s electric grill. It is perfect for indoor grilling and I totally recommend the Indoor grill by Hamilton Beach. The first recipe that I tried using this grill is to grill the salmon with a spiced jerk seasoning rub. Fish tastes great with with some spicy rub and grilling the fish gives you that charred texture which is DELICIOUS.

Grilling salmon fillets on your https://hamiltonbeach.com/indoor-grills is easy and healthy. You can do this with recipes that have just a few ingredients. Cooked salmon flesh is slightly fatty and firm. It flakes with a fork and tastes mildly of the sea. Even the Tandoori Fish Tikka you can make easily with your grill.

Best method to cook Salmon

There are many ways to cook salmon, starting from roasting in the oven to pan frying them to air frying them but for me, I like the grilled version of salmon the best and easiest. And that char lines make me look like professional chef even though the recipe for making a jerk spiced salmon is embarrassingly simple.

All you need to do is,

  • marinade your salmon fillets with your favorite seasoning for couple of hours.
  • Lay the salmon pieces out on a piece of parchment paper, sprinkle salt and pepper (if you haven’t added that in your marinade yet)
  • Grill for 6 minutes each on each side.
  • Easiest dinner ever.

Tips to grill Jerk Salmon

  • Parchment Paper: Line your baking pan with a sheet of parchment so that it doesn’t stick to the pan.
  • Grilling Time:  Salmon roasted in the oven is much quicker than you might think.  The general rule is 6 minutes per inch of thickness.
  • How to tell if the salmon is cooked:  The easiest way to tell if salmon is cooked through is to gently press down on the top of it with a fork and it will flake easily.

How to serve Jerk Seasoned Salmon?

This recipe goes really well with some brown rice and a glass of white wine. You can use the left over salmon to make tacos next day too or can even make a healthy nutritious salmon bowl. Go crazy with ideas. 🙂

Pro-Tips

  • Other marinades – Try using curry powder instead of Jerk seasoning. You can also include your own favorite seasonings as desired.
  • Importance of a Marinade – Other than adding flavors, a good marinade helps to add moisture to your to fish and keeps the fish from drying out while you’re cooking it.
  • Marinating Time – I like to marinade my proteins over night but you can get away with an 1 hour of marination time too. You will still be able to get maximum flavors out of your salmon.
  • Grilling the Salmon – If you’re going to grill your salmon, get your grill going to medium heat and lightly oil the grates. Grill the salmon for 4-5 minutes per side, or until it is cooked through to your liking. If you’re cooking with skin on salmon, start with the salmon skin side down so you can get a nice, crispy skin. This also works for pan frying salmon.
  • Baking the Salmon. If you’d like to bake your salmon, heat your oven to 425 degrees F (218 C) and bake the salmon on an oiled baking sheet 10-12 minutes, or until cooked through and the salmon flakes easily with a fork. You want 4-6 minutes per inch of thickness, depending on how you like it done.
